Track Days and Wheelies

My first GSXR1000 (K0) was the first bike I owned that would pop the front end up at the slightest opportunity. What a laugh. Here I am on the start/finish straight at Snetterton (pre 300).

My first track day was on my ZX7R, next was on my GSXR1000K0, ZZR1200, GSXR750, GSXR1000K6 and finally R1. What a buzz.

Graduated from beginners up to advanced group although happiest in the intermediate group really. Think I pulled 1 too many wheelies on the GSXR1000K0 as got pushed up into the advanced group by lunch time and told to stop it or else !

The ZZR was a bit of a handful but coped well. Got fed up with GSXR750s overtaking me so decided to have a change.

The GSXR750 was lovely and nimble and handled a dream. Shame I forgot to warm the tyres up properly. Came off on second session at Snetterton and made a bit of a mess of the bike unfortunately.

Think I did the most track days on my GSXR1000K6. Lovely bike. Had it sprayed up in BSB 2005 colours. Yoshi pipe was included as a Suzuki sales pitch at the time. Supposed to be road legal but got pulled over at Donnington due to noise regs at high revs. I couldn't hear anything...honest. Tracks included Donnington, Snetterton, Darley Moor, Mallory Park and Cadwell. Here I am going over the 'Mountain' at Cadwell.

A few more Snetterton trips on the R1 before calling it a day.

And here's a wheelie pic of my mate Nick back in 1988 abusing my Z750.
