My First Go at Touring

I must have been about 18 or 19 I guess. Me and my friend Andy J thought we would have a trip to Wales.

I bought some Krauser panniers for my GPz305 and Andy strapped a couple of school bags on the back of his X7.

Here we are having taken a wrong turn up some track in the middle of Wales. I liked this pic enough to get it blown up into a poster and put it on my bedroom wall.

At this point you'll see my bike still has a fairing. 2 Accidents later, no fairing and dented petrol tank. Left the spares in Wales on a post somewhere.

Andy's 2 stroke spat oil out of the Allspeeds. By the time we got home I was pebble dashed in black oily spots.

The following year I went to Scotland with Dad. Here I am on my Z400F and Dad on his CD200 Benley (no he wasn't a traffic warden). We waited 9 hours for the ferry to get off the Isle of Uist.
